OUR STORY

Foundations are most often rooted in the love of family members. For loved ones lost, for disease relief. For those in need. A way to leave a lasting legacy that keeps on giving. In fact, the love of family IS a true legacy of its own. And the Zyne family themselves exemplified their love of family in a unique way. The Zyne family humbly shared a way of life that became their legacy way to mission. As first generation immigrants from Lebanon who were rooted in their Catholic faith- family took care of family. They were five children born to non-English speaking parents who proudly believed in America’s religious freedom and the opportunity for them to become all of that was a dream come true. Upon arrival in the United States of America, Mr. &. Mrs. Zyne followed family and friends to Birmingham, Alabama. They raised their family in the Southside area of downtown. All five children, John, Rose and Mary, Michael and Joe, lived long, incredibly modest and self-sacrificing lives - all under one roof of their family home. They had a sibling unity unlike most. They never married or had children of their own, nor left their parents’ home. They took care of their parents and they lived together until their dying days. Life and their home was as if times stood still. No desire for the luxuries or amenities of homes today. However, their individual and professional successes spoke volumes about their intellect. Yet their unassuming way of life spoke even louder. Instead, they provided unwavering care support for their family and as Christians they supported and attended mini Catholic churches in the Birmingham area.
